Accretive's origins date back to the mid 70's when our founder, Dr. Nabil Abu el Ata, worked with a team of physicists and mathematicians to define orbits for probes to explore other planets in the solar system.

A whole new theory was created and a highly accurate solution developed, tested and applied for critical missions. Dr. Abu el Ata became increasingly involved with business dynamics and their systems and realized that the theory could be applied to model the multi-variable complexity of business information systems.

In 2002, he formed Accretive Technologies Inc.

Philosophy
Accretive does not view IT systems in isolation (although we can).

All information technology projects are designed to serve the specific and changing needs of the overall business. Accretive's approach is to model systems in layers starting at the top with the business process, then moving through applications, networks, hardware and databases incorporating cost factors throughput.

This results in an all-encompassing analytical, mathematical view of the business system, giving us the ability to accurately model for future business states and cost structures, providing key insights for managing the business, not just the technology.

Accretive's Cascade services solution was developed specifically for modeling business states and systems that do not currently exist. When using Cascade throughout the development lifecycle, outcomes are more consistent with expectations and rework/redesign, and therefore budgets are massively reduced.
