Accretive uses algorithm-based mathematical modeling to model complex systems with remarkable results. Other companies promise this end, however they are simply using a simulation approach rather than mathematical analysis.
Accretive’s experience shows that simulation will require several independent runs for each set of input parameters for the simulation to provide an acceptable average. An analytic model can produce the exact characteristics of that model of a variety of sets of input parameters very quickly.
Simulation models are expensive. They have a tendency to place greater confidence in a study’s results than is justified. If a model is not a realistic representation of a system under study, then the simulation results, no matter how impressive they appear, will provide little useful information about the actual system.
